Elyakim Kislev

Elyakim Kislev received his Ph.D. in sociology from Columbia University and holds three master’s degrees in counseling, public policy, and sociology. Kislev is the author of Happy Singlehood: The Rising Acceptance and Celebration of Solo Living, published by University of California Press, which was featured on newspapers, magazines, radio, and television, including BBC, Huffington Post, Vice, Globe and Mail, New York Daily News, and many more. Kislev is also the co-author and co-editor of Through Justice I Will See Your Face: Poverty and the Poor, Between Support and Growth and the editor and co-author of Calling for Leadership: Vision and Leadership in Education and Social Development. He also published various academic articles on the subjects of singles and solo living, immigration, social and educational policy, and ethnic minorities.

Kislev is working now on two new projects: The first is a new book written together with professor Bella DePaulo from University of California, Santa Barbara, in which they delve into the lives of those who actively choose to be singles and those who are singles by heart. The second is a new project on the digitization of the policy process. Working together with some leading companies in the field, this project is expected to fundamentally change how policy analysis is made following the 4th industrial revolution. The third is on the subject of the integration of minorities into the hi-tech industry and how both minorities and the industry at large can benefit from this.
