
Prof. Michel Strawczynski is a member of the Economics Department and the School of Public Policy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has taught advance courses in top Israel Universities including Tel Aviv University, Ben Gurion University and Raichman University in Hertzlia. He received his PH. D. from the Hebrew University and was a post-doc at the department of Economics at MIT. His research interests include Public Economics, Macroeconomic Policy and the Israel Economy. Prof. Strawczynski combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, after serving as the Head of the Research Dept, at the Bank of Israel, which acts as the Economic Adviser to the Government. He led the official research for adopting the Earned Income Tax Credit in Israel in 2007 and the Israel's team at the acceptance process of Israel to the OECD in 2010. His research projects were published in leading journals including The American Economic Review, The Review of Economics and Statistics and the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management. His papers cover issues in optimal taxation, fiscal policy, Israel's economy and government transfer programs to low income workers. |
