Prof. Sharon Gilad

Prof. Sharon Gilad is Associate Professor at the Federmann School of Public Policy and Government and the Political Science Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Before taking her current position, in October 2010, she completed a PhD (2007) in Political Science at the University of Oxford and Nuffield College and held a faculty position at King’s College London School of Management as well as a research fellowship at the Center for the Analysis of Risk and Regulation at the London School of Economics. Her research is predominantly within the field of Public Administration, employing a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods. The foci of her research include bureaucratic agencies’ identity, reputation and responsiveness to public demands, civil servants’ individual-level identities and inter-governmental social networks, discrimination of minorities and citizen strategies in citizen-state interactions.  Sharon’s research contributions, alone and in collaboration with colleagues and research students, have been published in the prominent journals in her field, including the Journal of Public Administration Research & Theory, Public Administration Review, Governance, Regulation & Governance and Public Administration.
